Hi! I'm Sanjay — glad you found my page. I've been making software for 8+ years, with 7 of those spent building mobile apps at Shopify alongside some amazing people.
From building greenfield apps from scratch, to scaling Shop from a few thousand users to over 100 million active users, I've developed for all stages of an app's lifecycle.
Moving between Canada and Kenya has given me a pretty unique lens on building for different markets, internet speeds, and technologies. Determining your target audience is a key requirement before we start building, as things that are taken for granted in North America could be critical blockers for users in Africa.
I love nature and you'll find its inspiration in my designs. Color gradients, fluid motion, and reactive elements are some of the details I highly push for. I believe apps should compliment your enviroment, rather than disrupt it.
Building great software is way better with a team. I work with some seriously talented engineers and designers, depending on what the project needs.
